The College of Staten Island Innovation Hub is proud to announce its upcoming move to a stunning, state-of-the-art space designed to empower entrepreneurs, students, small business owners, and innovators from across Staten Island and beyond.

Formerly known as the CSI Tech Incubator, the Innovation Hub will now be housed in a dynamic setting that offers more than just workspace. With panoramic views of the North Shore and Manhattan skyline, direct access to the Staten Island Ferry, Bus Terminal, and Staten Island Railway, and a modern infrastructure built for collaboration and creativity, this new location is a hub of possibility.

In a major milestone, the Innovation Hub will also feature New York State’s first publicly funded AR/VR Lab, offering cutting-edge tools and immersive technology to help entrepreneurs and students explore new dimensions of innovation.

The expanded CSI Innovation Hub will feature:

  • Collaborative coworking spaces for entrepreneurs, founders, and students
  • A fully equipped AR/VR computer lab, the first NY State-funded lab of its kind
  • Workshops, trainings, and networking events designed to spark growth and innovation
  • A welcoming space for community partnerships and educational advancement

Located just steps from major transit options, the Hub is intentionally positioned to be easily accessible for Staten Islanders and neighboring boroughs alike, making it a go-to destination for anyone looking to launch, grow, or scale their ideas.

As the Innovation Hub steps into this exciting new phase, it also welcomes a powerful new leader: Luis Martinez has been named the Director of the CSI Innovation Hub.

Martinez brings a nationally recognized track record in startup acceleration and inclusive ecosystem building. As the Founder of We Tha Plug, he has supported over 10,000 Pan-African and Latinx founders through mentorship, capital access, and tailored programming. He also helped launch the Black Innovation Alliance, a national coalition dedicated to closing the racial wealth gap through equitable entrepreneurship.

His leadership is a perfect match for the forward-thinking goals of the new space.

“This isn’t just a new location. With support from the NYC Council, we are establishing a central hub for innovation, community, and opportunity,” said Jasmine Cardona, Executive Director of the Division of Economic Development and Community Partnerships. “With Luis’s guidance and vision, the Innovation Hub will not only be a beautiful space, it will be a thriving, inclusive ecosystem where Staten Islanders can come to learn, create, and grow.”

“I’m thrilled to lead the Innovation Hub as we transition into this incredible new home,” said Martinez. “This space offers all the physical tools for success. Now we’re bringing the programming, partnerships, and people to match. I look forward to creating opportunities that reflect the diversity and talent of our community.”
