College of Staten Island Professor Grace M. Cho, a leading sociologist and scholar of Korean history, author of Tastes Like War, and a 2022 Asian/Pacific American (APA) Award winner for Adult Non-Fiction, will present “Souls Without Graves, We Will Cry for You for a Thousand Years: Exhuming the Massacre Sites of South Korea’s Politicide,” an online event hosted by the Future Security Initiative at Arizona State University.

Delving into the unfinished work of uncovering and remembering the victims of South Korea’s mid-20th-century political massacres, and drawing on personal and collective histories, Cho is writing a book examining the Korean War through the lens of her family’s experience. The event takes place on Friday, March 6 from 10–11am (MST) / 12–1pm (EST); register on the ASU website.
