Due to the forecast for high heat and humidity this evening, the Buildings and Grounds team is working under direction from CUNY to meet the New York State Independent System Operator (NYSISO) and Con-Edison energy reduction targets. These are normal energy-reduction targets to manage our energy usage and will not impact the workday or classes.

To support this effort:

  • Building Temperatures: Indoor temperatures will increase subtly at approximately 4:00pm today. While interior temperatures may rise slightly, the Central Plant will work to minimize the impact on occupied areas. For any climate-related concerns, please contact the plant directly at 718.982.3204 or 3205. 
  • Energy-Saving Actions: All campus occupants can contribute by turning off lights and fan coil units in unused rooms, and shutting down computers, appliances, and other non-essential electronics during this period.
