April Owen, a student-athlete who made her mark at St. Peter’s Girls High School and the College of Staten Island’s Women’s Basketball team, and was later inducted into the CSI Athletics Hall of Fame in 2018, has died after a long illness. She was 55. Her life as a celebrated athlete, coach, friend, and family member was recently featured by the Staten Island Advance.
