The College of Staten Island will recognize the accomplishments and achievements of students, faculty and staff with a full calendar of October Recognition Month Events.

“CSI is deeply committed to student success,” comments CSI President Dr. Tomas D. Morales. “Although we may teach different courses and work in separate offices, we each come to the college with a singular mission: to transform the lives of our students with unparalleled educational opportunities. It is through the passion and dedication of our donors, faculty and staff, that CSI students receive the education they need to excel in their post CSI academic aspirations and careers. I am honored to recognize the rich mosaic of CSI with our first annual recognition month celebration.”

To kick-off the celebration, CSI is hosting its first-ever homecoming on October 1. The day begins at 9am with a Breast Cancer Walkathon and ends with an alumni reunion and celebration of WSIA’s 30th anniversary of broadcasting. In between, participants will enjoy a series of events for friends and families, including an Oktoberfest Luncheon hosted by Ken Tirado, owner of Killermeyer’s Old Bavaria Inn.

The month continues with recognition of CSI’s outstanding students at the Dean’s list reception, and a celebration of the College’s “Employees of the Month” during two separate events on Tuesday October 4; a Faculty/Staff Recognition reception on Tuesday October 18; a Scholarship Awards Ceremony and Donor Appreciation event on Wednesday October 19; and the President’s Convocation on Thursday October 27, celebrating milestone anniversaries for employee’s with 5 through 40 years of dedication to CSI.

The celebrations will culminate on November 1, when members of the Middle States working groups and Strategic Directions committees will enjoy a reception to honor their contributions to these institutional initiatives.
