The College of Staten Island Student Government is sponsoring six essay contests: General Student, International Student, SEEK Student, Adult Returning to College, Single Parent, and Graduate Student. Applicants must write an essay of between 1,000 and 1,500 words and must have a minimum 2.5 GPA to apply. There are five essay topics from which to choose. Awards range from $500 to $2,000, depending on the contest. The money will be applied to the winning students’ spring 2010 tuition.
Applications can be picked up in the Student Government Office in the Campus Center (Building 1C), Room 207. The deadline for applying is Monday, Nov. 23. For more information call 718.982.3083.
