The Center for the Arts Williamson Theatre hosted a near-capacity crowd for a townhall meeting today, which informed the College community about Employee Self-Service (ESS), one of the next CUNYfirst modules that the College will be implementing.
When fully implemented, ESS will provide faculty and staff with the online ability to view portions of their Human Resources records, including contact information and a current listing of chosen benefits. This module is expected to be implemented in late fall 2009/winter 2010, and CSI will be the first CUNY college to go live with this module.
Today’s meeting included opening comments from Vice President for Technology Systems and CSI’s CUNYfirst Campus Executive Michael Kress, CSI President Dr. Tomás Morales, and CUNY Vice Chancellor for Human Resources Management Gloriana B. Waters. Deputy to the Vice President for Technology Systems Joyce Taylor provided and overview and timeline for ESS, and Associate Director of Human Resources Hope Berte discussed the functionality of the new module.
The meeting also gave those in attendence the opportunity to ask questions and voice concerns.
CUNYfirst is a suite of Oracle/PeopleSoft software that will replace aging computer systems covering student administration (SIMS), finance, and human resources, allowing College staff to streamline and standardize many of the tasks that they perform. It will be implemented in multiple phases over approximately five years. Each CUNY college has an CUNYfirst Liaison team that will lead and support campus implementation.
