The College of Staten Island Baseball team has earned a spot in the ECAC Metro DIII Baseball Championships. The games will begin on Wednesday, May 11 and the entire tournament will be played at the Bears and Eagles Riverfront Stadium on the campus of Rutgers-Newark.
No. 2 seeded Dolphins will have a bye the first round. They will play at 4:00 pm on Saturday, May 14 at 4:00 pm against the winner of the #3 Mount St. Mary (17-16) vs. # 6 Richard Stockton (19-17).
No. 1 seeded Rutgers-Newark (22-18) also has a bye the first round and will play the winner of #4 Old Westbury (22-19) vs. # 5 SUNY-Purchase (17-14) on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
The winner of Saturday’s games will play in the championship game on Sunday, May 15 at 1:00 pm.
CSI has made nine ECAC appearances including last season where the Dolphins lost to Richard Stockton in the first round. The Dolphins have two ECAC Championships (1991 and 2000).
