The CSI Library Greener Library Committee presents “An Introduction to the Greenbelt Native Plant Center” by Director Edward Toth on Wednesday, Nov. 9 in the Library (Building 1L), Room 216 at 2:30pm.

The Greenbelt Native Plant Center, located on Staten Island, is a 13-acre greenhouse, nursery, and seed bank complex.The Center’s mission is to provide native plants and seeds from local plant populations in support of the restoration and management of many of the City’s most valuable natural areas. Edward Toth, the Center’s director, will discuss the importance of native plant preservation while highlighting the Center’s programs and services. 

The Greener Library Committee acts as an information provider about environmental issues, raises awareness among Library users, advocates for implementation of sound environmental policy, and partners with environmentally concerned groups.
