Carryll Lentol, who won a reserved parking space for six months as a result of her participation in last year's CUNY Campaign, poses with Vice President for Institutional Advancement and External Affairs Barbara Eshoo.

The College of Staten Island’s successful fundraising efforts during last year’s CUNY Campaign for Charitable Giving were honored on October 7 at CUNY’s 28th Annual Kickoff and Awards Presentation, and the Ninth Annual Chancellor’s Circle Recognition Ceremony held at CUNY Central in Manhattan.

CSI received two awards: the Goal Buster Award, presented to the college that equaled or surpassed its 2010-2011 goal, and the Extra Mile Award, given to colleges with increased participation during the 2010–2011 CUNY Campaign. Accepting the awards for the College were CSI Captains Donna Garambone and Korpo Joe, and Vice President for Institutional Advancement and External Affairs Barbara Eshoo and Susan Been of the Advancement Office, who served as Campaign Coordinators.

Commenting on the College’s honors, Vice President Eshoo said, “The hard work of the CSI Campaign Captains and the commitment of CSI faculty and staff donors to the CUNY Campaign resulted in two awards for CSI. Most importantly, their donations greatly assisted those in need in non-profit organizations across Staten Island, including scholarship support for CSI students through the CSI Foundation.”

The event also featured a welcome from CUNY Chancellor Matthew Goldstein and remarks from CUNY Campaign Chairperson Pamela S. Silverblatt.

The 2011-2012 CUNY Campaign for Charitable Giving is currently underway. CSI faculty and staff again encouraged to give generously to help CSI students and less-fortunate members of our community.

In addition, donors to this year’s Campaign will be entered into two raffles: one for a reserved campus parking spot for six months and another for lunch for four at the Campus Center Park Café.

In an effort to reduce paperwork and save time, the preferred method of giving is online, although donors who prefer to pay by check can make their checks out to “The CUNY Campaign” and forward them to the Office of Institutional Advancement in Building 1A, Room 401 after they complete the online donation form.
