The College of Staten Island women’s tennis squad dropped its second non-conference test of the season, falling to Kean University in Union, New Jersey, by a 6-3 count. The loss dumped the Dolphins to 3-2 overall while the Cougars lifted their overall mark to 2-2.
CSI was short-handed for the match, only sporting a lineup of five players, so the team forfeited their third doubles and sixth singles match. Kean then followed by winning second and third doubles to take a commanding 4-1 lead. The Dolphins’ Sabrina Bragerton-Nasert and Michelle Kushnir took the win in the top spot, winning their flight, 8-3.
In singles, Bragerton-Nasert in the top spot and Madiha Mulla at No. 3 were the two victories in singles competition.
CSI is back in action on Wednesday, travelling to National Tennis Center in Flushing to take on Hunter College at 3:30pm.
