The College of Staten Island baseball team is slated to take on John Jay College in a non-conference double header at the Tomas D. Morales field at 4:30 pm.

The Dolphins took to the diamond yesterday against Baruch College for the first CUNYAC action of the season.  Staten Island played well in the first game as they were hitting the ball with ease and were able to take the first game 8-3.  Game two however, the Bearcats were able to best the Dolphins as they were the ones who made hitting look easy and went on to win 10-3.

The last time these two teams met was on May 7, 2015, where the Dolphins defeated the Bloodhounds 8-5 in the first round of the CUNYAC Tournament.  CSI jumped out to a early 6-0 lead against the Bloodhounds which would prove to be enough to win the game.  The Bloodhounds almost rallied back late in the game as they score four runs in the 9th inning. Staten Island is 67-40 all-time against John Jay and have won the last eight meetings.

The Bloodhounds had the first seven games of their season postponed due to poor weather.  When they were able to finally pick up the bats and start their season they were defeated by Eastern Mennonite 15-4, and 13-3. The Bloodhounds have started their season 0-6 with their two most recent losses coming against CCNY. John Jay has not scored more than four runs in a single game this season despite having the best hit percentage (.309) in the CUNYAC.
