“Women Greening the Globe,” a program put together by the Greenbelt Conservancy, comes to CSI on Friday, Mar. 20 in the Center for the Arts (Building 1P) at 6:00pm with the documentary ARISE, featuring women in the environmental movement. The film will be followed by a symposium on Friday, Mar. 27 from 10:00am to 4:00pm also in the Center for the Arts. The symposium will feature eight women speaking about their work: ARISE‘s filmmaker Lori Joyce, urban ecologist Marielle Anzelone, Bronx River administrator Linda Cox, Prospect Park President and park administrator Susan Donaghue, CSI Professor of Geography Deborah Popper, Beryl Thurman of the North Shore Waterfront Conservancy, Fresh Kills Park development manager Laura Truettner, and long-time Greenbelt advocate, Sally Williams. Cameroonian composer and singer Kaissa will perform during lunch.
