College of Staten Island women’s tennis ace Sabrina Bragerton-Nasert has been named the Player of the Week by the City University of New York Athletic Conference, it was announced today.  The senior swept a pair of singles and doubles matches last week, helping guide CSI to a 2-0 record on the week.

CSI narrowly defeated Yeshiva University to start the week, 5-4, and Bragerton-Nasert was instrumental, bagging both singles and doubles matches.  In doubles, Bragerton-Nasert teamed with Madiha Mulla and won at the top-spot, 8-7 (7-5) over the YU team of Shani Hava and Tzipora Leiser.  In singles, in the second flight, she would then score a 10-1 overpowering victory over Jannah Eichenbaum.

Three days later at CSI’s home opener against Sarah Lawrence College, Bragerton-Nasert shined again.  Once again in the top position, she teamed with MUlla to score a one-sided, 8-1, winner, and then in the top singles spot she scored a 6-1, 6-2, win over SLC’s Nora Landes.

CSI tennis will be back in action on Thursday for their CUNYAC opener.  They will travel to Brooklyn College for a 4pm showdown with Brooklyn College,
