Players To Watch (CSI): After scoring six goals all of last season, Danielle Alexandrini has now tallied four, and leads the Dolphins with 11 shots taken. Look for defenders Kaitlin Russo and Catherine Mulligan to hold down the back line. Both played 90 minutes in the win yesterday over Sussex CC.
Players To Watch (OW): Mayra Bonilla is OW’s top returning scorer from a season ago, and returns for her sophomore season. She scored a goal in OW’s big win yesterday. Melissa Muller has made 10 saves so far this season and is hoping for a big outing against CSI today.
News and Notes: CSI defeated Sussex CC yesterday, 3-1, powered by three first half goals. OW was a 5-0 winner over CCNY yesterday, and now stand with a record of 1-1. Old Westbury has won the last three meetings in the series dating back to 2012. CSI is 2-1 all-time at home against the Panthers, having won in 2008 (4-0) and in 2011 (3-2) before falling in 2013 (1-3). Last year’s 1-0 loss to Old Westbury may be misleading, as OW out-shot CSI 43-18 in the game. Former goalkeeper Victoria Donegan made 18 saves for CSI.
