On Thursday, Mar. 31 during Club Hours (2:30pm to 4:30pm) in the Center for the Arts (Building 1P), Room 119, the Center for Advising and Academic Success is hosting its first-ever Transfer Student Co-Curricular Exploration event for transfer students who entered CSI this 2015-2016 academic year. Our conversations will focus on experiential learning opportunities and resources available here at the College. The event includes a panel discussion and one-on-one conversations with representatives from New Student Programs, the Career and Scholarship Center, Center for International Service, the Office of Recruitment and Admissions, and various academic departments.
Due to the number of credits that these students often transfer to CSI, many are not required to participate in New Student Orientation. As a result, they often miss out on collective opportunities to learn of the wide range of academic and co-curricular programs occurring outside of the classroom. This venue helps to remedy this situation by providing information about academic options (including graduate studies), experiential learning, and student leadership opportunities, and it has been certified as a Co-curricular CLUE event. This is also a great opportunity for them to speak with our faculty about pre-professional studies and research opportunities, and to make personal contacts to help them foster stronger connections with our campus.
We encourage you to refer relevant students to this event.
Thank you in advance for your support.
