The College of Staten Island men’s volleyball team fell for the second time in as many days and for the seventh straight time this evening, dropping a conference decision to Brooklyn College by a 4-0 count in Brooklyn, NY. The Bulldogs won by scores of 25-18, 25-16, and 25-21. The loss dropped the Dolphins to 4-14 overall and 2-8 within the CUNYAC, while BC lifted to 6-14, 3-7, respectively.
Brooklyn was crisper at the net tonight, out-killing CSI, 37-23, boasting a .293 hitting percentage as well. In the first set a Rudy Zhao kill helped open a 20-14 lead that proved to be the difference. Zhao would finish with a game-high 20 kills.
The Bulldogs then ripped off a 5-0 lead to start the second set, and then took a 10-4 commanding lead. The Dolphins were a bit better in set number three, but Brooklyn went on a 11-3 run to stake a big 13-9 lead to help take control.
Justin Edwardsen led the way for CSI with five kills, four aces and 9 digs, while Brandon Lei tallied 19 assists. Moaz Choudhary tallied five aces and three blocks for Brooklyn.
?CSI is now idle until Tuesday, March 15, when they travel to face John Jay College in a 7pm conference test.
