The College of Staten Island men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams take to the road this afternoon as they will travel to Montclair, NJ to swim against Montclair State University in a non-conference swim meet at 12:00 pm.  The men are coming off of their first ever win over William Paterson University while the women had their undefeated streak snapped by the Pioneers.

Swimmers to Watch (CSI):  Derek Villa and Tim Sweeney continue to have a stellar season in the lanes.  Villa is coming off a great meet against the Pioneers where he picked up three first place finishes for his squad.  Sweeney recently earned Collegeswimming.com Swimmer of the week for his outstanding performance in which he broke two CSI pool records.  Ewa Wojciechowska also earned Collegeswimming.com Swimmer of the Week on the women’s side for the Dolphins.  Nouran Abualam has been a great added piece for the Dolphins as she has dove extremely well and picked up much needed points for the Dolphins.
Swimmers to Watch (MSU):  Courtney Munro is coming off a pair of wins against The College of New Jersey. Munro picked up a first place finish in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 11:12:10 before coming back to win the 500 free.  Dan Knepple and James Singewald will look to carry the Red Hawks to victory over the Dolphins.  Knepple is coming off of 1000 Freestyle win while Singewald also took a first place finish in the 200 backstroke.
News and Notes: This will be the first ever meeting between these two programs.  The men of Staten Island will look to continue their undefeated season while the women will look to get back in the win column to improve to 3-1 on the year.  The last time the men started off 2-0 was back in the 2013-14 season where they would start their season 4-0.
