The College of Staten Island men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams were victorious in a big way this evening, soaring to victory over Brooklyn College on the road in Brooklyn, NY.  CSI won on the men’s side, 159-61, in what was their season opener, while the women took a leaner 136-79 win in their second meet of the year.

Although results as of press time are unavailable, it was a big night for CSI captain and reigning CUNYAC Most Valuable Performer Tim Sweeney, who aside from sweeping his events set a new school and CUNYAC record in the 200-yard Freestyle.  In the young season it’s already the 9th-fastest time in NCAA Division III and his time in the 100-yard Butterfly was seventh-highest in the NCAA Division III ranks this year.

Both units will be back in the pool on Tuesday, November 8, when they host William Paterson University in a 6pm match at the Sports & Recreation Center.
