Fresh off of another CUNYAC Championship, the College of Staten Island is seeking bigger and better things in 2018, and they have unveiled their 2018 schedule today with thoughts of repeating on their mind.  The 39-game rip starts in early March with spring training in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and wraps up with the CUNYAC Tournament during the first weekend in May, hosted by the College of Staten Island.

The Dolphins officially get underway with a three-day, six-game swing in Myrtle Beach as part of the Cal Ripken DIII Experience.  CSI has not learned their opponents yet, but hope to use the extended weekend to propel into the regular season that starts regionally six days later.  There, CSI will have their home opener against Farmingdale State on Sunday, March 11, for a doubleheader at the CSI Baseball Complex.  The very next weekend features the CUNYAC opening doubleheader against associate members University of Maine at Presque Isle.  They will tilt against the Dolphins on Sunday, March 18 at 1pm.

CSI will finish up March by starting an eight-game home stand, the second doubleheader on March 31 against CUNYAC-rivals John Jay College, who the Dolphins eliminated in last year’s postseason tournament.  After road contests out-of-conference against Ramapo and Manhattanville, CSI will then adopt another 9-game home stand, that includes the Grace Hillery Breast Cancer Awareness Night on Tuesday, April 17, at 7pm against Drew University and a pair of CUNYAC doubleheaders.  In a rematch of last year’s championship, CSI will host Baruch College for a pair on April 21 at the CSI Baseball Complex.

The 2018 regular season will end with three road games, including a season finale doubleheader at Lehman College on April 28.  The next week, the CUNYAC Championship Tournament will kick off, starting with games hosted by higher seeds on Thursday, May 3.  On May 4 and 5, CSI will host the double-elimination tournament the rest of the way.

All CSI Baseball home games are FREE and are PG-CLUE Certified for CSI students.  Most home games are covered live by CSI SportsNet, with live video and audio coverage throughout.
