Excitement is building for College of Staten Island women’s tennis, as following the announcement of the hiring of new Head Coach Joseph Gravagna on Monday, comes the official unveil of the 2018 schedule.  This year’s schedule features 16 regular season contests spread primarily through September and October culminating in the CUNYAC Postseason Tournament.  An abridged spring season will also be featured.

CSI will officially get underway on Sunday, September 9, when they open with the first of four-straight home contests against Mount Saint Mary College at 12 Noon.  All four home contests to start the season are non-conference, preparing the Dolphins for their first road contest against John Jay College, the defending CUNYAC Champions on September 20.  CSI will then stay on the road for four more more contests, including stops against conference-rivals Baruch College (September 23) and Hunter College (September 29).

The Dolphins play their only two home CUNYAC contests to kick off October, hosting Brooklyn College on October 4, followed by York College two days later.  After facing off against Lehman College on October 9, CSI will finish with three-straight on the road all against non-conference foes.

The CUNYAC Postseason Tournament will feature six teams, and Quarterfinal play will kick off on October 21 at the campus of the higher-seeded teams.  Semifinal and Final play will take place at the National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows on October 23 and October 26, respectively.

As always, CSI will play a modified spring schedule come March-April.  Only one match, a clash at Rutgers – Camden has been scheduled to date, on April 28.

All CSI home contests are free for all spectators.  The Dolphins finished 8-5 last season, falling in the CUNYAC Semifinals against eventual-champion John Jay.
