Ewing, NJ | After a weekend hiatus due to the Easter holiday, and then a showing at the iconic Penn Relays, the College of Staten Island track & field programs were back at it on Saturday, participating in The College of New Jersey’s Track & Field Invitational.  The non-scored meet featured a host of area teams, and CSI was right in the thick of it, representing well in a series of races and posting some top finishes as well.

WOMEN’S MEET
100-meter Dash – CSI had four runners in the event for preliminaries and finals.  Deavion Brown led the group with a 28th-place finish, landing a time of 13.42.  Vassageia Watson finished at 14.61, for 50th.  Sarah Andes was next in line at 53rd with a time of 14.84, while Vanessa Mansur posted a 15.84 time for 57th.

400-meter Dash – Both Tristiana Adragna and rachel Edmonds were showcased here, running side-by-side in the section five preliminary group.  In the Finals, Adragna posted a 36th place finish with a time of 1:08.84, while Edmonds was close behind in 39th, at 1:10.43.

Long Jump – The duo of Andes and Watson participated here.  Andes turned in a distance of 3.91 meters, finishing 24th overall, while Watson, turned in 3.39 meters which finished 28th.

Javelin – Cassidy Iannariello posted a distance of 27.38 meters, good for 23rd in the field.

MEN’S MEET
100-meter Dash – CSI had a total of five runners entered in the 70-man race.  Leading the way was the quick feet of Jared Nusser, who finished 30th in the field with a time of 11.64.  Jordan Thompson was right on his heels at 11.68, good for 32nd.  Olatian Okeowo finished 57th at 12.40, while keeping pace with him was Canaan Rodriguez, who finished 60th at 12.54.  Abdul-Rasaq Ishola finished at 12.77, good for 65th.

200-meter Dash – Three Dolphins showcased here, with Jordan Thompson leading the way with a 23.40 finish, good for 19th overall among the 77 participants.  Rodriguez finished 70th at 26.10, while Ishola finished t 26.60 for 75th.

400-meter Dash – Jared Nusser finished with a great mark of 53.88 in the face, landing 22nd overall.  CSI’s other competitor was Justin Fernandez, who came in at 1:00.53, good for 46th overall.

800-meter Dash – Jaron Thompson was first this time among four Dolphins.  He put in a time of 2:17.97, good for 86th overall.  Close behind was Ahmed Khodir at 2:19.57 for 88th.   Spencer Milito turned in a time of 2:23.38 for 97th, while Daniel Palmieri raced in at 2:37.58, for 105th.

1500-meter Run – In the most populated event of the day, Khodir put in a performance of 4:56.34 for 104th, while Daniel Palmieri came in at 5:23.76 for 113th.

5K – Milito turned in a healthy time of 17:56.19, good for 27th in the field.

4×100 Relay – The CSI unit of Jordan Thompson, Okeowo, Rodriguez and Nusser ran the relay in 47.16, good for 9th overall on the day.
