The History Department of the College of Staten Island/CUNY Fall 2022 History Lecture Series presents: Battle for Realism: The Challenges of Exhibiting War, a talk and discussion with Paul Morando, Chief of Exhibits of the National Museum of the United States Army, Fort Belvoir, VA on Friday, Nov. 18 from 2:00pm to 3:30pm via Zoom. About this talk: The National Museum of the United States Army opened to the public on Monday, June 14, 2021 and covers more than 245 years of history within its galleries. This talk will look at the different approaches in telling the Army’s story within the museum’s exhibits, focusing on specific artifacts, soldier stories, historic content, and technology to illustrate the complexity of war.
About the speaker: Paul Morando holds an MA History from the College of Staten Island CUNY. He began his career in the Army Museum program in 2003 as Director of the Harbor Defense Museum at Fort Hamilton, NY, and has since served as Director of the Casemate Museum at Fort Monroe, VA (2007) and Director of the Quartermaster Museum at Fort Lee, VA (2011). In 2017, he became the Chief of Exhibits of the National Museum of the United States Army.
