The College of Staten Island proudly announces the Jodi Merendino-Bencivenga 5K Run/Walk on May 4, 2025, at 10am on the College of Staten Island campus. This event honors Jodi Merendino-Bencivenga, CSI’s Director of Dining Services for over 35 years, who passed away in August 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer.

The event features a 5K Run/Walk which starts and ends on the campus’ Great Lawn. There is also an option for a 5K Dog Walk, dedicated to Jodi’s love for animals, and a full after party located on the Great Lawn that will feature music and refreshments. Those who cannot or do not wish to run or walk can register for the festivities only as well.

Proceeds will fund the renaming of the CSI Campus Park Café in Jodi’s honor, with additional funds supporting Humane World for Animals. Registration and sponsorship details are available here.
