With Spring Break approaching at CSI, some students are prepared to take full advantage of the time off and put school aside for a week, while other others are planning to stay on schedule to keep focus on their demanding course material.

Jason Gilbert Pecho, who is a first-year pre-Nursing student at CSI, says his Spring Break plans only include focusing on studying for an important exam for the rest of the month.

“To be honest I haven’t really thought about Spring Break plans, but I think I have to focus on studying during the break because I have to take the NLN NEX test to get into the Nursing program. So this entire month, I’m going to be locked in on that.”

Similar to Pecho, when asked about how her semester has been going in the pre-Nursing program, Bisola Akanmu, who is in her second semester, said she is having a tough time with her BIO 160 class. As far as Spring Break plans go, she will spend her time at home studying for the NLN exam as well.

“I didn’t do too well on my last Bio test but my grades will come up before it’s too late,” said Akanmu. “I’ll probably stay home for Spring Break and focus on studying and preparing for my nursing exam that I’m taking in May.”

Adedoyin Adegoke, who is also a Nursing student, is planning to spend her Spring Break with more leisurely activities with some family bonding and less studying, especially since she feels she has been studying more, and has been more prepared this semester compared to previous ones.

“For Spring Break I’m going to Texas to see my sister,” said Adedoyin. “I’m planning to go out to eat, take pictures, get my hair done, and all that. Basically just have fun.”

Another student hoping to relieve some semester stress and use Spring Break to relax is Haroon Ali, a Political Science major in his fourth year.

“I don’t have any plans for Spring Break as of yet, but if I don’t end up doing anything I’m going to just use the time to relax and watch Yankee games and just get back behind the wheel.”

Starting on April 12 and ending on April 20, students have slightly longer than a week, which may not seem long, but is a certainly needed break for some if not all of us. Whether you can’t wait for this week to begin, or you’re waiting until summer to be released from the clutches of school, make sure to get some fresh air this Spring Break and take joy in your time away from CSI.
