In the coming days and weeks, you may notice fenced-in enclosures appearing in various locations around campus. These areas are associated with the ongoing utility tunnel rehabilitation project and are necessary to support excavation activities related to ventilation and access points for the tunnel system.
The fenced areas are being established to ensure the safety of the campus community and construction personnel while this work is underway. Access to these work zones will be restricted, and we ask that all members of the campus community observe posted signage and avoid entering the enclosed areas. Please also exercise caution when walking near any active construction areas and remain aware of construction equipment, vehicles, and personnel.
This phase of the project is expected to be completed by mid-January, at which time the excavations will be filled and the affected areas restored.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as this important infrastructure project progresses. Updates regarding construction activities and any potential impacts to campus operations will be shared as they become available.
If you have any questions, please contact the Campus Planning Office.
