The Music Program of the Department of Performing and Creative Arts presents a Faculty/Guest Music Hour featuring original compositions by faculty member Michael Morreale (Michael Morreale, trumpet/composer, with guest artists
Vinnie Ruggieri, piano; Bill Moring, contrabass; Tim Horner, drums). The Music Hour will take place on Thursday, March 24 in the Center for the Arts (Building 1P) Recital Hall at 1:30pm.
Staten Island native Michael Morreale has been a performing musician for over 30 years in jazz and commercial fields. His jazz compositions have been recorded by the Santa Fe-based jazz quintet Straight Up (with which he has performed since 1997) and his “Destines for Brass Quintet” has been performed by Prometheus Brass. Mr. Morreale played two world tours and recorded six albums with Joe Jackson and has been a sideman for legendary vocalist Keely Smith. Since 2009, Professor Morreale has been a full-time lecturer at CSI, where he teaches trumpet, jazz ensembles, and related musical studies.
