CSI GAMEDAY: MEN’S VOLLEYBALL VS. SARAH LAWRENCE / NJCU, 11AM / 1PM

The men’s volleyball team looks to break their two game losing streak in a non-conference tri-match against NJ City University and Sarah Lawrence College. The Dolphins fell to the Gothic Knights in a match earlier this season, but will seek redemption at the Campbell Sports Center starting at 11:00 am.

Players To Watch (CSI): Mark Palencia notched a game-high of 18 kills against Purchase College, allowing him to sit at 14th in the nation in kills averaging 3.71 kills per set.  Danil Kukovitskiy had 6 kills and 3 solo blocks Thursday night, to have him sit second on the team with 25 kills and first on the team with 12 blocks. Adil El Haddad and Ronald Tisbe will be a key factor for the Dolphins as El Haddad racks up a total of 94 assists and Tisbe has a team high of 35 digs.
Players To Watch (SL): Callan Moor paces the way for the Gryphons with 32 kills and 43 digs. Harris Silcott is second on the team with 13 kills and 28 digs. Ithai Diakov and Isaac Gamboa are tied for third in digs as they notch 23 digs each.
Players To Watch (NJCU): Julian Moreira has been a dominant offensive player as he has a team-high of 104 kills and is tied with Edgar Crespo for second on the team with 42 digs. Johnathan Andrews is dominant on both ends of the net as he is second with 68 kills and first on the team with 20 blocks. J.J Berdecia is first on the team with 54 digs and Jimmy Vega sits at 42nd in the nation in assists with a total of 296 assist and averaging 7.79 assists per game.
News & Notes:  NJ City University toppled the Dolphins, 0-3, earlier this season. Palencia had a game-high of 12 kills. Kukovitskiy had four kills and three blocks and Anthony Vigilante also had four kills and three aces. El Haddad has a team-high of 20 assists. NJCU’s Christian Ramirez had a game-high of 15 kills and Moreira was second with 13 kills. Vega had 35 assists. Staten Island looks to come back to clinch their first ever win against both the Gothic Knights and Gryphons.
