CSI Today Talks, the College of Staten Island’s official podcast, returns for another great episode this time discussing the book, Black Angels, with author Maria Smilios and CSI Professor of Nursing Dr. Marianne Jeffreys.
Hosted by CSI Communications’ Terry Mares, this week’s show returns with Mares interviewing both Smilios and Dr. Jeffreys in anticipation of the event, The Black Angels: The Untold Story of the Nurses Who Helped Cure Tuberculosis, which will take place this week at CSI’s Center for the Arts. Smilios, who authored the book of the same name, discusses her motivations for telling and significance of the story of The Black Angels, while Dr. Jeffreys sheds light on what the event means to CSI and the courageous stories of these women in context with past, present, and future states of health and society.
