As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe campus environment, we would like to remind everyone that the College of Staten Island has designated bicycle lanes throughout campus, including lanes along our roadways and designated areas on certain sidewalks.
Please be reminded that bicycle lanes located on sidewalks are intended for traditional bicycles only. Electric bicycles (e-bikes) are not permitted on campus sidewalks and must remain in designated roadway areas where permitted.
With the increasing use of e-bikes, it is especially important that all members of our campus community remain mindful of their surroundings. E-bikes can travel at higher speeds than traditional bicycles, creating potential safety hazards for pedestrians, particularly in high-traffic areas.
We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in helping to keep our campus safe.
