The New York Center for Interpersonal Development (NYCID) recently honored College of Staten Island President Dr. Tomas D. Morales at its 2010 Dinner and Auction.
Regarding his award, Dr. Morales said, “I am proud to accept this award on behalf of all faculty, staff, and students, who, together with the Center’s dedicated staff, work to strengthen our community, and in particular, the lives of our youth, through education and our collaborations.”
According to its mission statement, NYCID “is a not-for-profit organization on Staten Island providing youth, community and professional development programs as well as dispute resolution services that educate and inform the public about constructive problem-solving, effective communication and intercultural awareness. [The Center] also operate[s] a training institute to teach these skills to others.
Other 2010 honorees included John P. Tuminaro, Principal, Tottenville High School; Joann Calabro, Assistant Principal, Tottenville High School, and Program Administrator, Young Adult Borough Center Program; and Staten Island Community Television.
