Are you looking to gain valuable internship experience without sacrificing needed income?  The College of Staten Island’s Internship Stipend Program, generously funded by the Northfield Bank Foundation, offers you the opportunity to investigate career options, further develop career-related skills, link classroom learning to the world of work, and receive a $1,000 stipend.  This selective and competitive program provides internship opportunities in the not-for-profit sector.

Although assistance is provided to students in securing an internship, there is no guarantee of placement. Students must apply and interview as they would for any internship or job opportunity. Placement decisions are at the discretion of the employer.

 
How do I know if I qualify? 

-Have completed a minimum of 24 credits by Summer 2012.
-Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.
-Complete a minimum of 80 hours at your placement site.
-International students may apply.
-CSI graduate students may apply, but preference is given to undergraduates.

How do I apply?

-Applications can be picked up from Building 1A, Room 105 (additionally, a copy of the application can be downloaded online).
-A 500-word statement clarifying your career goals and addressing how an internship can help you achieve thsoe goals.
-An unofficial copy of transcript and resume.
-Completed applications and essay are to be returned to the Career and Scholarship Center.
-A personal interview is required (to be scheduled after application is submitted.)
