Your response to Hurricane Sandy, and your willingness to help your friends, students, neighbors, colleagues, and perfect strangers, has been heartwarming and inspiring. Due to the overwhelming response for donations, please note that we have stopped accepting collections for Sandy’s Closet and Sandy’s Pantry: if you still are interested in donating clothing, cleaning products, and other goods, we encourage you to contact local community organizations so that you can continue to lend a helping hand.
If you are a member of the CSI community impacted by Hurricane Sandy and would like to visit Sandy’s Closet, please do so by 4:00pm on Thursday, Nov. 29. After that day, remaining items will be donated to local community organizations that will make the donated items available to the broader Staten Island community. Access to Sandy’s Closet is provided through the Center for the Arts at 718.982.2506. Sandy’s Pantry, located in the Campus Center, will continue to be available to the CSI community. For access to Sandy’s Pantry, please contact the Office of Student Life at 718.982.3088.
