The College of Staten Island sophomore pitcher Chris Falcone added his first pitching award to his resume, as he was selected as the CUNYAC Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 1st.
The left-hander pitched a complete-game four-hitter against Lehman. Lehman was able to score two runs on four hits in the very first inning. Falcone would then settle down and go onto throw six scoreless and hitless innings, striking out 15 Lehman batters. The 15 strikeouts are the 4th-highest single game total in CSI history.
The Dolphins would go on to win that game in a convincing 8-2 victory over the Lightning to give them their then second win in a row.
Through games of April 6th, Falcone is 3-0 with a 4.43 ERA, and 31 strikeouts on the year which lead the CUNYAC. He also boasts a .300 batting average with 12 hits in 40 at bats with a .364 on base percentage. Falcone has played in all 17 games and has started 16 of them.
