The CUNY Service Corps application deadline has been extended to Sunday, Mar. 22 at midnight. We will be conducting two more information sessions in Building 1S, Room 102 on Tuesday, Mar. 17 and Thursday, Mar. 19 from 3:00pm to 4:00pm.

To be eligible for the CUNY Service Corps, you must:

-Be working toward a degree at the College of Staten Island, be enrolled full-time (with at least 12 credits) in Spring 2015 semester, and plan to enroll full-time in the Fall 2015 semester

-Have a cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 2.5 and have earned at least 24 college credits

-Have addressed any remedial education needs prior to beginning Fall 2015 classes

To be seriously considered, you will need to demonstrate that you:

-Are interested in being part of a special and important program that will make a difference in the lives of New Yorkers, and are interested in helping people, neighborhoods, and/or organizations, as well as have previous work experience in a job or as a volunteer or intern

-Can balance work in the CUNY Service Corps with college studies

-Show promise as a leader and a problem-solver and be able to work as a member of a team

If you have met the eligibility requirements, please pay attention to Section 5 of the application, which requires you to complete three short-answer questions. You can cut and paste your answers to these questions from a Word Document. Make sure that your statements are complete, well organized, and grammatically correct.

After you have completed your short answer questions, you can then go to the online student application.

You must apply online by midnight on Mar. 22 for consideration.

Please make sure that you have the name and contact information of a reference who has agreed to support your application. If you are successful with the application process, you will be contacted to participate in a group interview session during Spring Break. Please prepare a résumé for this process and be aware that business attire will be required.
