We are delighted to invite you to the upcoming Dean’s Symposium, which will held on Tuesday, Mar. 24 from 2:30pm to 4:00pm in the Center for the Arts (Building 1P) Recital Hall. The symposium, “From Songs to Sonnets: The Theory and Practice of Interdisciplinary Work,” is sponsored by the Division of the Humanities and Social Sciences.
The symposium features Professor Sylvia Kahan of the Performing and Creative Arts Department, and Professor Steven Monte of the English Department. They will address ways in which interdisciplinary studies in the arts and humanities have crossed paths and interwoven trajectories in countless ways — with both theoretical and practical approaches to the topic. Presented from the perspective of a renowned musician and an exceptional literary analyst, the discussion will traverse a wide ranging spectrum of humanistic inquiry and its articulations through literature and the arts.
Please join us for what will undoubtedly be a fruitful and thought-provoking event. A reception will follow the symposium, which is a CC CLUE event. We look forward to seeing you there.
