The College of Staten Island women’s volleyball squad saw their win streak halted at two, falling on the road to the United States Merchant Marine Academy by a 3-1 count this event in Kings Point, NY.  Individual scores were 25-10, 25-18, 20-25, and 25-14.  CSI fell to 7-12 overall while the Mariners lifted to 14-11.

CSI only posted a -.038 hitting percentage, and USMMA rattle CSI to the tune of 46 kills.  CSI did most of their damage behind the line, posting 15 service aces.

Leading the way for CSI was Selma Kolenovic’s six kills followed by five from Rosamarie Gonzalez.  Brittany Minondo was a bright spot, posting 9 service aces and 9 digs.  Dominique Pope dominated for USMMA, scattering 15 kills.  Kayla Gleason was also paramount to the win, posting six kills, 31 assists, a pair of aces, and 11 digs.
