The College of Staten Island men’s volleyball squad is back on the road again, taking on Medgar Evers College and Rust College in a tri-match hosted at Medgar Evers College. The Dolphins dropped their 9th straight match last night against CUNYAC leaders, Hunter College. Staten Island will head into today’s tri-match with high hopes as they’ve swept both teams earlier this season.

Players To Watch (CSI):  When the Dolphins took on Rust College earlier this year Danil Kukovitskiy lead the Dolphins with five kills, a team high, while hitting a robust .300.  Look for Adil El Haddad to have a repeat performance as he notched eight service aces in his last match against the Bearcats. Justin Edwardsen led the way with 10 kills in his last meeting against Medgar Evers College while Brandon Lei finished with 19 assists.
Players to Watch (MEC): Jamal Chance is the go to guy for the Cougars’ offense as he leads Medgar Evers with 224 kills on the year, 126 more than any other attacker on his team.  Chance is also leading the team with 24 service aces.  Shaquille Miller is the defensive specialist for the Cougars with 105 digs and eight blocks.  Cameron Bryan had five blocks the last time these two teams met while Angel Seda led the way with 15 assists.
Players to Watch (RC): Terrance Hart will look to lift the Bearcats to their first win of the season today and will look for revenge against the Dolphins for sweeping them earlier in the year.  Hart had one kill on 11 total attacks to go along with a pair of digs which was second on the team.  Darion Cunnington lead Rust with two assists as well as three digs.
News and Notes: With the loss last night to Hunter College the Dolphins have no tied their longest losing streak ever at 9.  The Dolphins have never lost to either the Cougars or the Bearcats and swept them in each of their meetings.  As the season starts to come to a close the CUNYAC games are becoming more important as Staten Island will want to improve their standing with a win over the Cougars.  Rust College will look to collect their first win of the season while the Cougars will look to pick up their first CUNYAC win of the season.
