College of Staten Island senior Timothy Sweeney has continued his hot run through the month of January and it resulted in yet another City University of New York Athletic Conference Performer of the Week honor, it was announced today.  The Dolphins had just a lone meet a week ago, but Sweeney impressed as usual.

For Sweeney this marked the third-straight week winning the citation from the CUNYAC, and it was his sixth of the season.  CSI participated in a lone meet against Adelphi University on the road and Sweeney won both of his individual events and was part of a second-place relay side as well.  First came the 200-yard Medley Relay and CSI turned in a time of 1:44.41.  Then in individual play, first Sweeney outclassed in the 50-yard Freestyle, coming in at 21.98, good for first overall among the six total swimmers.  Two events later, Sweeney took home another win in the 100-yard Butterfly, racing in at 51.32, winning by just over a second in the heated race.

For the season, Sweeney leads the Dolphins with 428 points.  he also leads all with 26 first-place finishes and 28 Top Three finishes overall in individual events.  He is the the reigning CUNYAC Performer of the Year, and will look to be a candidate once again after this terrific season.
