I would like to take this opportunity, again, to thank Ira Persky for his commitment to the College of Staten Island over the course of his 24 years of service. I wish him the best in his retirement.
Recently, the University has highlighted the need to seek administrative efficiencies. Consistent with this emphasis, during the upcoming academic year, I would like to assess the level of staffing necessary to operate the multiple departments that constituted the Division of Finance and Administration. Accordingly, I have implemented the following reorganization plan, effective Saturday, July 1, 2017.
Carlos Serrano, Assistant Vice President for Finance and Budget, will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer reporting to the President. In addition to his current direct reports, Carlos will now oversee Operational Services and Design Services.
Cameron Christensen, Assistant Vice President for Campus Planning and Facilities Management, will oversee Environmental Health and Safety.
Ken Iwama, Vice President for Economic Development, Continuing Studies, and Government Relations, will serve as President of the CSI Auxiliary Services Corporation.
Jennifer Borrero, Vice President for Student and Enrollment Services, will oversee the Center for the Arts.
Hope Berte will assume the role of Chief of Staff/Deputy to the President, while maintaining overall responsibility for the Office of Human Resources as Executive Director. As Chief of Staff, she will also assist with the management of the other departments that report to the President’s Office, including Diversity and Compliance, Sports and Recreation, Public Safety, and Campus Planning and Facilities.
Jessica Collura, who has been serving as the Interim Chief Diversity Officer, Title IX Coordinator, and 504/ADA Coordinator, will be returning to Human Resources to assume the role of Director of Employee Relations and Labor Designee. Effective immediately, Manuela Alongi will assume the role of Deputy Director of Human Resources and will oversee the daily functions of the office. Danielle Dimitrov has returned to her role as Director of the Office of Diversity and Compliance.
Thank you, and I wish everyone a safe and restful summer.
