Earth Day is scheduled for Tuesday, April 22, and to celebrate, the College of Staten Island has a host of activities planned for next week that the CSI community can take part in.

This series of engaging and impactful events are designed to educate, inspire, and empower our campus community to take action for the planet. From career opportunities in sustainability to hands-on tree planting, there’s something for everyone to get involved in. Here’s what’s happening next week:

Green Job Fair @ CSI

Monday, April 21st | 12-2pm | 1P – Atrium

CSI students and alumni are invited to explore a range of sustainability-focused career paths at our Green Job Fair. This event connects job seekers with innovative companies, nonprofits, and organizations that are leading the way in environmental responsibility. Sponsored by the Office of Career Services, it’s a fantastic opportunity to network and discover where your passion for the planet can take you.

Environmental Crisis Series: “Buy NOW” Netflix Documentary Screening & Discussion

Tuesday, April 22nd | 2:30 – 4pm | 1P – 223

Join us for a thought-provoking documentary that dives into the darker side of consumerism and its global environmental impacts. “Buy NOW” challenges viewers to rethink how and why we shop—and highlights the power of individual choices. This event, organized by CSI’s Sustainability Office, encourages critical dialogue and community-based solutions.

Clean out your closets and join the circular economy! At the CSI SWAP, you can donate or take home clothing, books, housewares, games, and more—for free! No need to bring something to participate. Sponsored by the Sustainability Office, this is a fun, eco-conscious way to reduce waste.

Bike Drop-Off @ CSI

Saturday, May 3rd | 11am – 3pm | 1P-Atrium

Got an old bike collecting dust? Donate it—no matter the condition—at our Bike Drop-Off event. All collected bikes will be repurposed, helping others in need while keeping materials out of the landfill. This event is held in conjunction with the CSI SWAP and is another great way to give back.
