If you thought Mother Nature was toying with the Men’s Baseball schedule before, then you haven’t seen anything yet. The College of Staten Island men’s baseball program is announcing a litany of changes for the week thanks largely to the saturated field conditions everywhere after the weekend storms.
For starters, today’s single make-up contest against Lehman College, scheduled for 5pm in the Bronx, has been postponed. The new make-up date for that game is Thursday, April 3, again at 5pm at Lehman. The make-up announcement derails CSI’s scheduled non-conference game against SUNY-Maritime that was scheduled for that date, which was also a make-up from a previously rained-out affair.
But wait…there’s more.
CSI has announced a couple of venue changes for the week as well. Tuesday’s nine-inning non-conference game against Kean University scheduled to be played at CSI at 4:00pm has now been moved to Kean’s campus in Union, NJ for a 3:30pm start tomorrow. Conversely, CSI’s single, nine-inning, game against City College of New York, scheduled for Wednesday on Randall’s Island at 4pm, has now been moved to CSI’s facility for a 7pm start under the lights.
Thankfully, forecasts look good for the rest of the week, and the Dolphins are anxious to get back on the diamond. More schedule alterations are expected soon for Women’s Softball and Men’s Tennis.
