On Wednesday, faculty and staff at the College of Staten Island visited Notre Dame Academy on Staten Island offering juniors and seniors at the high school a series of select master class workshops meant to expose students to various college disciplines or related careers, and in preparation for a potential future at CSI’s campus
Organized by the CSI Office of Recruitment and Admissions, the master classes held at Notre Dame occurred during the eighth and ninth periods in topics such as: Physics & Astronomy, Business, International Studies, Physical Therapy, and Earth/Environmental Science.
CSI faculty and staff at the event icluded Dr. Charles Liu, Professor of Physics and Astronomy, Dr. Stephen Ferst, Director of the Center for Global Engagement, and Instructor for International Studies, Dr. Jonathan Peters, Professor of Finance & Data Analytics, The Lucille and Jay Chazanoff School of Business, Christopher Spurrell, Glory Udechi, and Mina Ghattas, Level 1 Department of Physical Therapy students, and Amanda Rotondo, PT, DPT, Assistant Professor & Director of Clinical Education CSI DPT Program.
Master class workshop coordinators Emmanuel Esperance, Jr., and Sean Walsh handle all scheduling for master class visits to feeder schools, designed to give students a taste of an actual pre-college of 100-level course students would experience at CSI. The group hopes to travel to more area high schools throughout the school year.
