College of Staten Island senior Bobby Drake earned his first career CUNYAC weekly award, as he has been named the conference’s Player of the Week after a busy week of baseball. CSI went 6-1 on the week, and Drake was in the middle of the action, adding great pop at the plate and strong defense playing centerfield.
Drake had a great week, batting .435 going 10-23 with five extra-base hits including two triples. He posted the game-winning double in the week-ending game against Baruch College in the bottom of the 9th inning, a 3-2 CSI win. For the week he slugged .739 and boasted an on-base percentage of .480 with 7 RBI and 7 RS.
For the year, Drake is batting .305 and leads the team with 24 RBI. He is fourth on the team with 20 runs scored and leads the team with three triples. He is also third on the team with six stolen bases.
Drake and the Dolphins will next be in action on Wednesday, as CSI will host FDU-Florham for a single game at 4:00pm at the CSI Baseball Complex.
