POSTGAME INTERVIEWS – The College of Staten Island men’s swim team bounced back after losing to Ramapo College and beat Queens College (NY) 130-98 improving their record to 2-1 overall while the Knights dropped to 2-1. 

The men started off on the right foot as they jumped out to an early lead as they took first place in the 200 yard Medley Relay with a time of 1:42.87 which consisted of Danila Novikov, Andrey Tarasov, Timothy Sweeney, and Sergio Miranda. Stephen O’Driscoll set the bar high over the weekend as he put up a time of 12:18.67 in the 1000 yard freestyle then tonight, set a new season best of 11:53.36 coming in first three minutes ahead of the second place finisher.

CSI was dominant tonight as they took first place in 9 of 13 events leaving little room for the Knights to score any points.

John Pignatelli led the diving squad with a score of 227.55 on the 1 meter, dive which significantly increased his season best from 199.05.  Novikov set a new season best time in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 48.42 beating the old season best 59.25 set by Miranda over the weekend.

The men will return to action Thursday, November 6, when they head to Baruch College for their first CUNYAC meet of the season with hopes to defend their CUNYAC crown.
