The College of Staten Island men’s and women’s basketball squads will be back in action tonight, taking on CUNYAC-rival Baruch College at the Sports & Recreation Center. Admission to tonight’s games will be free of charge but for those of you who won’t be able to make it to the game it will be broadcast on WSIA 88.9FM and
www.wsia.fm and via CSI SportsNet at

The College of Staten Island women will take to the floor tonight to face off against second place Baruch College in a CUNYAC contest. The Dolphins, 16-3 overall and 11-0 in the CUNYAC have been unstoppable this season and will want to keep that going. Baruch College (13-6, 9-2) will want revenge for earlier in the season where the Dolphins beat them on their home court by a score of 79-64. The Bearcats will come into tonight’s game with a chip on their shoulder and will want to leave with a win to close the gap between them and first place.
Most recently, the Dolphins beat CCNY in a very low scoring game, 47-31. The Dolphins were able to get the victory despite only scoring 47 points. The Dolphins defense however, made up for the lack of scoring as they were able to hold CCNY to a chilling 15.3% shooting from the floor while only allowing them to score 31 points in the game. The Dolphins will hope to bounce back from their 25 turnover, 47 point performance as they face a much more successful opponent in the Bearcats.
Meanwhile, at Baruch, the Bearcats have slipped a little compared to last season. The Bearcats are 13-6 overall this season whereas last season they were a stellar 26-3 overall and 15-1 in the CUNYAC. Baruch has still been dominant this season though as they are 9-2 in the CUNYAC and are sitting just two games behind the first place Dolphins. The Bearcats can play well on the road as they are 5-3 when they have to travel.
The College of Staten Island men will take to the floor tonight to keep their undefeated record alive against the Bearcats of Baruch College in a CUNYAC contest. The Dolphins, 16-2 overall and 10-0 in conference play have beaten every team that has come into the Sports and Recreation Center this season. The Dolphins are looking forward to extending their dominance over the CUNYAC for a third straight year as CUNYAC Champions. Baruch College comes into tonight’s game with a record of 11-9 overall and 7-4 in the CUNYAC.
The Dolphins are coming off of yet another CUNYAC victory against CCNY. With that win the Dolphins extended their winning streak to 15 in a row and have no intentions in surrendering that streak tonight to the Bearcats. The Dolphins will do everything in their power to keep their win streak and home undefeated streak alive tonight against an intruding Bearcat squad.
Over in New York, the Bearcats are having a decent season as they are sitting in third place in the CUNYAC with a record of 7-4 and 11-9 overall. Baruch will look to keep this performance going through towards the post season in the hopes of winning a CUNYAC Championship. Just last year the Bearcats were able to make it to the CUNYAC semi-finals in which they lost to John Jay College.
