The World on Wednesday lecture series presents “Liberal Arts Education and Colleges in East Asia” on Apr. 11 in the Campus Center (Building 1C), Room 211 from 12:20pm to 1:10pm.
Fulbright visiting scholar Prof. Mikiko Mishimura from International Christian University (ICU), Japan will speak about Liberal Arts Education and Colleges in East Asia. The Fulbright program, one of the most prestigious and selective scholarship programs operating worldwide, was conceived by Senator J. William Fulbright in the aftermath of World War II to promote leadership, learning, and empathy between nations.
She is also a Senior Associate Professor of Sociology of Education at ICU and has worked extensively in education planning and research, and has been involved in project formulation, implementation, and evaluation in education and poverty alleviation in 14 countries.
